The Elevate-KHS Pro Cycling Team is excited to be heading the the UCI 2.1 Tour of Taiwan, part of the UCI Asia Tour, Wednesday. The team will have several days to visit team partners at the Taipei Show before heading to the races. With the gracious help and support of many of our sponsors, the team has the opportunity to race in Asia for the first time. The excitement has been building heading into this hallmark event, which will begin Sunday March 26th.
Taiwan is on Central China Time, which is 15 hours ahead of Pacific Standard Time in the US. This means their 9:15AM start time on 3/26 Sunday will be at 6:15PM Saturday 3/25. We will do our best to keep on top of the results and share the action as soon as we have it available.
The roster for the event will include climbing sensation Eder Frayre and Alex Hoehn who will feel right at home on stages 2, 3, & 4 which each traverse substantial elevation gain.
The 1st and 5th stages will suit sprinters with a strong finish, which is where Alfredo Rodriguez will shine. With the help of domestique and team captain Brian McCulloch, Alfredo will be sure to have his best legs for the finishing kilometers.
Rounding out the 5 man roster is veteran Joe Schmalz who brings a level of experience, tenacity, and calm to the group. With his depth, instinct and acuity for just the right representation in the moves, Joe is sure to shine throughout the event and is considered a breakaway wildcard on the more dynamic stages.
The team will be accompanied by Director Sportif Paul Abrahams, Soigneur Suzanne Sonye, and Mechanic Gary Rennie. Thank you to everyone for all your support to get the team to this point and we are excited to take you on this journey with us!
