The Elevate-KHS Pro Cycling Team has had an excellent campaign at the 2017 Tour of The Gila. The Stage 4 Criterium was exciting as Alfredo Rodriguez, pictured above, sprinted to 3rd place on the stage. Below is the official write up from the Tour of the Gila.
The iconic Gila Monster Road Race is the final stage of the tour. Today the racers covered 100 miles and over 9,000ft of climbing where they tested their climbing prowess. The team had a solid plan to ensure that climbers Eder Frayer, Alex Hoehn and Connor Brown were in the best position for the final assault on the Gila Monster. Checking in with Director Sportif Paul Abrahams after the completion of the event, he stated:
“The team raced hard today. Connor Brown was in the first main break of the day, and he did a great job covering that move of 15 riders. When the time came to get into position for the main climb of the day, we had Eder Frayre, Connor Brown and Alex Hoehn there and ready. All three were able to dig deep and finished in the top 40. The whole team did a great job and we are happy with where the team is heading as we get ready for the upcoming races.”
Alex Hoehn worked hard in the break on the Inner Loop Road Race, Stage 2.
With 10 laps to go in the criterium, the team took to the front of the race to set Alfredo Rodriguez up for the finishing sprint.
